So sad to hear the news of Joe. I will always remember both Joe and Margaret for their contribution and presence throughout our childhood and time growing up in Tramore Heights. We had a path worn into No. 27, I still remember the countless times Joe saved the day, repairing our bikes and scooters, re-inflating tyres, taking off, and subsequently putting back on, stabilisers! I still have the notes and architecture newspaper clippings Margaret would pop in my letterbox. They both had such a genuine and unwavering interest in our lives that always made us feel like part of their family and to us they were our 'third grandparents'. I really will always remember them.

Susan, Raymond, Mary and James, so sorry to hear about the loss of your lovely dad. He was a true gentleman and a lovely neighbour who could fix anything and was willing to help everyone. I remember water spurting from a hole in a radiator and being told to “run and ask Joe for help”, he came straight down and somehow managed to fix it with a matchstick!

My sympathy to Joe’s family on his passing .I worked with him in AnCo.in Waterford in 1973-1975 . He was very helpful to me as a new starter in the training Centre .He liked to sing about the River Slaney Rest In Peace Joe .
