Joseph (Joe) EGAN

It was with great sadness that I heard of the death of Joe.
A courteous, friendly and cheerful gentleman, he will be sorely missed. We all way had such a great laugh also he was so kind to my Mum & Dad

My deepest sympathies to all the family. I and my late wife Ann were lifelong friends of Joe and Pat, only separated by geography. I was a colleague of Joes, going all the way back to our Clarnico Murray days, very fond memories. Truly saddened to hear of both his and Pat's passing while reading the Saturday Irish Times 23rd Jan 2021. Both will be in my prayers and thoughts as will the family. Rest in peace. Little did we know that when we took on the lovely Hunter Sonata Gizmo that we would also be entering a precious friendship with Joe and you Pat. We have spent special times together which we will treasure always. Like many we journeyed through Joe’s life of amazing and humorous activities and experiences through his skills of a true raconteur, all recounted in his so distinctive voice which we will always hear in our memories and our hearts. We will miss Joe so very much. Hugs to you Pat and remember we love you dearly.

I remember him as an absolute gentleman and often recall him telling us that you knew you were a grown up when you liked mustard - I still don’t...... water skiing with him and him telling us new world wine was making its way to Ireland - I’d only heard of blue nun at that stage in my life. Dear Pat, we were deeply saddened on hearing of the passing of Joe.
Our memories are always of his sense of humour and great fun. It was ironical that he mentioned Tullamore's pronunciation by an Italian customer and then we went to live there and met him one evening for dinner in Bergamo.

He always kept me in touch with everything including family holidays and every other aspect of life and I shall miss him very much

I have very fond memories spending time in your family home during my teens, we had many long chats with your dad. Such an interesting man, lots of story telling and a great sense of humour!
