Deepest sympathy to all of Joe's family and friends. May he rest in peace. RIP.
I knew Joe as a member of the IMC and as very pleasant company when walking or climbing. He was probably our first environmentalist. He never left Dalkey Quarry without bringing away a bag of litter which he collected. It was great to see him getting back onto the hills when he got his hip fixed. Condolences to his family
Sending sincere sympathy to Joe's family at this time of sad loss.
Joe was our companion on many walks over the Wicklow and Mourne mountains, He undertook a massive book keeping project for me while recuperating from his accident. A kind and gentle soul, may he rest in peace.
On behalf of the club I want to offer our deepest sympathy to all the Family on the death of Joe and we are thinking of you all at this difficult time.
Sincere condolences to Joe's family. We have fond memories of good times on the hills with Joe over many years. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
I have many happy memories of Joe as a walker and climber. He joined us on a trip to Lundy in 1996 where the weather was windy, the climbing 'hard to get to' but the Marisco Inn's no. 1 dessert "Death by Chocolate" a big hit every evening. Sincere condolences to Joe's family.
Sincere sympathy to all of Joe's family on his very sad passing. I have fond memories of all the stories Joe told me of his many, many travels. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace Joe.
Joe was one of my first contacts with the world of mountaineering when he was treasurer of the Irish Mountaineering Club when I joined. Over the years I enjoyed his company on the hills and the wisdom of his wide experience.
Condolences to his family.
Sincere condolence to Tony and Mary and all the extended Hobbs families on the very sad passing of Joe. A kind and gentle soul. Rest in Peace.
I have many happy memories of days on the hills with Joe, including trips away in Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Some years ago we each set out walking on our own but bumped into each other on Black Hill and joined forces for a great day out in glorious February sunshine on Mullaghcleevaun. Deepest sympathy to his brothers and sisters.
Sincere condolences to Tony Mary & all Joe’s family , may his gentle soul rest in peace
