Joseph (Joe) MADIGAN

So sorry to hear of Joe's sudden passing he was a lovely lovely man he came to see us when 1st our mam then our dad passed suddenly he was so kind to us mam and dad loved him and had huge respect for him our mam and dad were Jean and Mick Kennedy detective they had many good times together may he rest in peace take care of urselves at this hard time

Our deepest sympathy to Dympna and the Madigan family on the sad news on Joes pasing, my dad Johhny Jordan who passed away in 1996 served with Joe in SDU and they were strong and loyal friends and who my dad respeced and held in high esteem.

A mutual friend told me Joe passed away and I gasped with sadness. I was a regular at Searsons and made his amusing acquaintance many times. HIs humorous inquisitions of my life, where I had been, was going, etc. was always entertaining.

My condolences to you, his family, because we all feel grief and know it is a struggle that lasts quite some time. I shall keep you in my prayers and may Joe rest in peace. It has been said before, "May he get the best seat in Heaven."

Deepest sympathy to Dympna, Claire and Niamh on the passing of lovely Joe. When I think of Joe, I smile. Many people remember Joe as a fearless man who was afraid of nothing and gave huge service to this country. He even protected Pope John Paul II (now of course a great saint) when he came to Ireland. What an achievement that was! But for me, I’ll remember Joe as a kind man who was always so welcoming to me and all Claire’s friends. He had a good heart and was always so funny. There was no one like him. May Joe rest in peace now in the loving arms of God. He will be missed by so many.
