I supported Joe when he used Tigh Mac Gamhna as his Day Centre 2006-2014. I became his Keyworker for many years. It was easy to be very fond of Joe. He always wanted to be helpful and have the chats.
A character for sure. With his peaky hat and his pipe and tabacco at the time. Puffing away....aways when it was time to go somewhere!!! And he would not be rushed! God forbid!
He loved trad music. lf someone was playing Spancil Hill sure it would bring a tear to his eye, reminding him of his Mammy. He had an eye for the ladies and it made his day if he got a dance off you!
Loved a coffee or a cheeky pint.
Joe loved meeting people and making new friends.❤️
