Joseph (Joe) McLOONE

Today (May 29th) would have been your 70th birthday. You would have had a lovely day and a great party where you would have seen what you meant, to so many. Since you passed we have seen and heard what people felt about you and thought of you. You were held in such high esteem and remembered so fondly and respectfully. You may not have been, in the traditional sense, a father or grandfather but in your lifetime, Joe McLoone, the impact that you had on so many lives, which was never forgotten, and the friendship you offered can never be measured. You were a very strong, kind and wise gentleman and you will be missed by more than you would have ever thought. Happy Birthday and may you Rest in Peace x

I'll always remember how excited you were, Joe, when first I called you 'Navajo Joe' - in honour of your encyclopedic knowledge of Ennio Morricone and all his works. You were always friendly, genial company, jolly, a good person to know. Your upcoming birthday on 29th May would in better circumstances have been...quite something.. Your passing is SO sad. We'll all miss you a lot. No Morricone concert will ever be complete without you...Adios, Navajo Joe...

Joe was a total Legend - in just about every capacity - his film soundtrack knowledge remains pretty well much unsurpassed - he dug deep and knew his soundtracks back to front and back again. Extremely sad news on my end - Joe was the business and a good pal who radiated the kind of warmth and good vibes you don't see any more.... Serenata dude you will never be forgotten! X

I am devastated at the news of my great long term friend Joe “Navajo Joe”as he was know Tony’s has died,I was going to visit him in Dublin for his 70th birthday in May but atlas it wasn’t to be!

I am shocked to hear of the passing of Joe. I got to know him many years back through Are interests in music and movies along with other discussions we had. Haven’t seen him for a while but had always spoke his Heath issues. Very sorry again he was a true gent.

It’s so terribly heartbreaking to hear about the passing of Joe.
He was a Wonderful man who enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge on all things Movie & Music related to all who cared to share his time.
He never ran out of chat, always welcoming and obliging.
You will be sadly missed Joe.

May his spirit find repose after a life well lived. He died with dignity, unafraid and gracious in all ways. Even though he goes into the ground, his spirit rises to the air, to nature, the animals he loved, to sport and music and especially to the people who were privileged to call him a friend.

I only had the pleasure of meeting Joe in the last few years, what an absolute gentleman beautiful outlook on life and lovely sense of humour RIP wonderful soul.

So sad to hear of Joe's passing. He was a true gentleman and was well known around Millbrook lawns. He helped a lot of kids keep on the straight and narrow just by them listening to him. Will be missed. Rest in peace Joe.

Over the few years I knew him. Joe became my grandad. Watching movies and TV shows with him we're some of the best times ever. He will be missed.

Little did i know when i was playing football as a kid on the field in miillbrook lawns that i would form a great and lasting friendship with you years later Joe. You used to pass by with your brief case and talk to all of us kids always looking out for us. As a musician myself i used to love listening to your storys of music and film over our fun filled last 25 years or so of friendship. I will miss our days out at the concert hall and visiting you for a movie and a chat. Rest in peace Joe

Sorry to hear of the passing of Joe a close family friend whom we knew since we were kids. May you rest in peace Joe & be reunited with your friends & family that went before you.

Joe will be sadly missed, he was a very unique and intelligent guy always in good form, I was honoured to have known Joe for the past 45 years, May he R I P.

Joe was well known to me and my colleagues in Tallaght University Hospital and was always willing to participate with a smile. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

So very sad to lose a dear friend. Joe was a character and wonderful company. His love and appreciation of music was his lifelong passion. He was also a great animal lover and had an excellent way with dogs.
