I have many great memories of Joe visiting the Coillte offices in Kilkenny and always coming into me for a good chat and laugh. A true gentleman, he always had time for everyone and was always smiling and in great form. He will be sorely missed. What a hive of information Joe was. He knew the country like the back of his hand.

I first met Joe in the 90's when I joined Coillte many moons ago and he would pop his head in the door with a big smile on his face and we would take up the conversation like we had met the day before; Joe was always like that, very unassuming and always kind and light hearted.
