My most hearfelt sympathy to all of Joe's family. He was a lovely gentleman and sure trips to Dublin wont be the same now without the gorgeous sandwiches he made and especially the fig rolls and mikados which Michael always looked forward to.

I first met Joe when he came to visit May in the old Adelaide hospital where both May and myself were patients many many years ago. Both May and Joe became like parents to me and later like grandparents to my 3 kids. I loved them both dearly and May is so sorely missed as will Joe now. He was a true gentleman, a quiet , unassuming man always willing to help everyone. He and May have been blessed with a wonderful family , who will miss him so much. RIP dear Joe, and i know May will definitely have welcomed you with open arms. Big thanks to u both for everything down the years. I will never forget either of you.

Joe was a thorough gent and a quietly friendly and sociable neighbour - his pottering about his garden which he kept immaculately, will be missed.
