We were work colleagues in Bandon Mart. Joe had a great pair of hands and did all kinds of maintenance work and particularly an exceptional welder. The catwalks in the mart are a testament to that. He was always punctual-a friend to all who worked with him and to our customers.
Joe saw many changes in his lifetime from his young days in the West of Ireland to his many years across the water and Bandon. He adapted easily to change.

So very sad to hear of Joe's passing. Joe and Ann were great pals with my late parents and we have very happy memories of their regular calls to our home in Convent Hill. Joe was the definition of a gentleman and I am sure he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace reunited again with his beloved Ann.

It is with deep sadness that we heard of the passing of our dear friend Joe, a wonderful gentleman whose love, kindness, and humour brightened our lives. His residence at Avenue Grove will always be remembered as a place of warmth and joy, where everyone was always welcome.
We remember Joe as a person who valued his friendships and took pride in being part of our community. Whether it was a kind word, a helping hand, or a humorous story, he enriched our lives in countless ways. His presence among us was truly a gift, and his loss is profoundly felt.

I have a lot of very good and funny memories with Joe. Definitely a man like no other, I'm thankful and happy he was a part of my journey in life! We hopefully may meet again, big hug and rest in peace!

I first met Joe in the mid 1990’s when John arranged another of what had become our annual trip to Ireland for the Six Nations Rugby, together with Dave Grimshaw. Joe was intelligent, articulate and a superb raconteur, with a constant twinkle in his eye. It was immediately apparent from where John had inherited those very same attributes. Joe and Ann always welcomed us into their home and Joe would join us in the Welcome Inn and entertain us with his tales.
Joe was a genuine, sincere man who would help anyone in need and I feel privileged to have known him.
