Josie was the last surviving founding member of Dalkey Players. She supported the work of the drama group in many and varied ways. It didn't matter whether the need was backstage, front of house or onstage, Josie was always in the thick of things.
Among her favourite roles was that of Mrs O'Meara Hardy in Mary Halpin's 'Semi Private' for which she won awards. She was good fun and great company.
When Dalkey Players took to the roads on the Festival circuit, Josie loaded vans, drove cast and crew in her car and behind the scenes, encouraged nervous actors.
She was an anchor at the heart of the group for many years until her final illness kept her away.
Sincere condolences to Hilary, Andrew, Richard,Sarah and all the extended family.
May the inspirational and supportive Josie rest in peace.
