A great lady, very good friend to my mother Maureen McKenna, Doddervale. She would always ask how we were all getting on and never gave out if the football went into her garden.
Will always remember her and Paddy driving up Orwell Gardens in the bubble car.
The end of an era.
— Mel McKenna
Dearest Josie, may you rest in peace now in Heaven with your beloved Paddy and your special Billngs crew. Your journey there will have been the quickest ever! You inspired all those who knew you with your warmth, goodness and generosity, your zest for life and your independence. No 26 was a sunny, welcoming house. Your friendships spanned generations and you were friends to so many in Orwell Gardens and beyond.
You were certainly very special to me, next door in 27.
Fondest memories of so many cuppas enjoyed and lessons learned there. X x

Thanks Josie for your company, concern and time for the neighbours around you, your sense of humour, your kindnesses to all and for being you. I always enjoyed your sense of involvement, your giggles and outlook on life.
Her devotion and care to her husband Paddy was exemplary.

My condolence to all the Billings and McKenna Families.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the death of your beloved Josie in her 99th year. What an amazing age. She was greatly loved by all her family and the 'auntie' that the rest of us wanted to have, so talented, great knitter, cook, calm under pressure and with her lovely Paddy by her side they were a dynamic duo.
Sleep peacefully, Josie

Thanks Josie for being such a great neighbour to me and my parents and family over so many years. I pray that you are now reunited with Paddy and enjoying the benefits and rewards of Heaven for an exemplary life so well lived where you always thought about others far more than yourself. You were so caring and attentive to all of us here in No. 78. We feel blessed to have known you as our wonderful neighbour. Rest peacefully with the angels Josie. Mary
