We are so saddened by Joyce’s passing - she had a long and fruitful life but that makes it no easier. She was unfailingly kind to my mum Sheila, and their friendship sustained mum in their later years. So much work for worthy causes, but interspersed with great fun too.

dear jackie, david, jane, john and william,

I know your mum lived a long and full life and that she will live on through your memories and i hope ye can find some comfort in those memories of you mum.

In my memory "Mrs Kingston" Joyce, was a big character; smart, witty, busy, a bit scary, but always kind. And the thing i remember most is she treated everyone equally and fairly even if we were being annoying kids , which was often !

I hope the grief of losing someone so big in your life is tempered by the fact she was so long in your lives means ye all have more memories to share.

I send my deepest sympathy to the Kingston family on your great loss. I think fondly of Joyce's contribution to St Luke's School as a parent, member of the Parents' Association, the Board of Management and trustee. The school benefitted greatly from her wise advice and guidance. She introduced me to Soroptimist International Cork where she did trojan work too for charity - and entertained all the Soroptimist ladies regularly in her home. We were blessed to know her.
