All members, past members and friends of the GMS were so sad when we heard the news of Joyce's passing. She joined the GMS for our In love with Gershwin & Porter concert in 2000 and stayed a loyal singing member and supporter of the Society since that day. Some of the words that members have used to describe her include cheerful, enthusiastic, so warm and welcoming, gentle lady, great fun and these are all so true. We were lucky to have her as a member and I'm sure that she's looking down on us all now, free to sing in the choir of angels whenever she wants. We will miss her.

I didn't have or share Joyce's knowledge or love for the GAA , but at rehearsals in GMS. As I sat beside her, she would have a small radio hidden in her pocket & and her ear piece, I always knew when there was a match in play. She would sing along & when her voice went silent - I knew a goal had been scored and then the singing would just continue. She was the crack & will be so missed.
