My sympathy to all Jude's family on his passing. If ever the phrase 'I did it my way' was used to sum someone up, it would be Jude. I met him on numerous occasions in Croke Park with my friend Gerard McIntyre. He was a unique character, opinionated and strong willed, but had a strong social conscience too. He was always good company. May Jude rest in Peace.

It is with deep sadness that I read of the death of Jude, Heartfelt condolences to you Maureen, to Rosario and Daria on his passing.
Each year, back in the 70’s, I’d receive a call from Jude in the month of June telling me that he would be home in a weeks time and to start the MG and “warm it up”. Jude introduced me to many beautiful little places in Cavan including Glangevlin and Dowra and needless to say we never returned “with the curse of the town”.
Jude was his own man and a wonderful character, Swanlinbar has lost one of the best. Ní bheidh a leithéad an arís.
