My grandmother, Margaret "Peggy" Lydon O'Connell, wanted me to share a few words about her sister, Judy. She told me the last time she saw Judy in person, Judy was only 11 years old, so she mostly remembered her as a child. But over the years they kept in touch through letters and phone calls, and my grandma said she will really miss that. They always spoke on holidays like Easter and Christmas, and Judy would give her all the news from home. She told me Judy was the only sister she had left, and she’s really going to miss her. She remembered when Judy was born — everyone in the family loved her so much right away. Since there were eight years between them, my grandma said Judy was almost like a little baby doll to the older siblings, and they all wanted to hold her.

Her memories of Judy will always be cherished, and the love she felt for her little sister will remain in her heart forever.

Rest in peace Aunt Judy, we will miss you dearly. We are grateful for all you have done for the Lydon family.

Rest in peace now my dear Aunt Judy. Always the gracious host whenever I visited with friends and family; unwavering in your task as the primary caregiver to your parents and your sweet sister Nora, you shouldered your lifelong responsibilities for the care of others as an example to us all. Your Sunday phone calls with my mother, Peggy, were a source of great joy and anchored her to her home and family far away. You were loved, you were needed, you will be sorely missed by us all.
