Sympathies to Julians family. He was so proud of his 4 children and spoke often about what they were getting up to. I worked with Julian for the best part of 16 years. He was always generous with his time with me, a great professional, but always ready to take the opportunity for a bit of slagging and I loved him for that. There was nothing more impressive, than when we'd have a tough issue in work and he would go off for a cigarette to mull over the problem and hey presto he'd be back 5 minutes later with the answer. He'll be deeply missed. Rest in peace Julian.

Julian was a mentor to me from the day I met him, and I’ll always fondly remember him calling me his 'Padawan' as he showed me the ropes.
