It was with great sadness that I Iearned of the untimely passing of June. My condolences to all of her family. Down through the years I bore witness to her dedication and high level of competence in the IPBA and the pipe band world more generally. She added much to the Irish drumming scene and was unerringly fair as a judge. She will be sadly missed.

I was deeply saddened to hear about June's passing. A super player in her own right, even after June finished playing she would always offer honest advice or lend a hand with last-minute preparations, and always got an improved performance out of a Drum Corps. June will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Please know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Unfortunately I did not get to know June, though I was able to drum alongside her through the streets of Lorient, France, Summer of 1994 - her snare drumming left quite an impression! I'm only just now finding out about her broader impact on the pipe band scene. I wish all her family and compatriots sincere condolences.
