During the almost, three years that I have worked with Karen, there hasn't been a day where she hasn't brought laughter into my life. Karen was simply one of the most sincere, honest and caring individuals I will have had the pleasure of knowing. I hope that it brings you some comfort in knowing how much she was respected and appreciated as both a colleague and friend.
Karen, I hope you are at peace with your beloved Nan, whom you often spoke so lovingly about.

Karen lit up every room she walked into, she was such a care-free and light hearted person and loved to make people laugh. You were always guaranteed to have fun when you were with Karen. I was blessed to be able to call Karen one of my best friends. Such an amazing person with a sense of humour that I will never forget! I worked with Karen in Mowlam and remained close friends with her ever since. I have such wonderful funny memories of her that I will cherish forever. She was a beautiful soul, moving to the beat of her own drum. As a work colleague, a friend she established relationships, bonds that can never be broken with those around her and with the young people she had a positive impact on their lives.
I happened to listen to song today that struck a chord with the opening lyric “I am magnificent, only with you in my heart” all I can say about is if I can have as much spirit, courage, integrity, honesty and a fiery quick wit that Karen showed, I know it can only help those around me at this most tragic, sadness of times.

To Karen's family and friends, my heartfelt condolences to you all on the loss of our beautiful, funny and amazing Karen. I am devastated at her loss. Working alongside her was always a pleasure, she had the ability to turn any situation around for the better with her calm, cool and often razor sharp wit. She had a talent for connecting with our young people with such a natural ease and was talented in her job. I don't know how we will go on without her humorous analysis and advice on life, love and who the best soccer teams were but.....
Love doesn't die; People do; and so even though she is gone from this world, I will carry our friendship with me forever.
