I worked with him in Santry and occasionally crossed paths with him in Store St. We had some good laughs and bad golf together, his company was always enjoyed. He could light up a dark room with his smile, had common sense in abundance and always wanted to help those who needed it, the epitome of a good guard. May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to Karl’s family. I never worked directly with Karl but I did the motorbike course with him in about 1997. Ever since then every time I met him, no matter where and no matter whether in or out of work, he’d always stop for a chat. A true gentleman. RIP

An absolute gentleman who was so kind to me during my two week placement on the Traffic Unit in Santry as a young trainee garda. I recall a very funny and witty character who treated his colleagues and the public with courtesy and respect and was a really brilliant role model who is a huge loss the his family and to the Garda Organisation.
