Ernie, we learned of Kate's passing just last night, 19th October. We are saddened to learn of your loss. Our memories of Kate are of a gentle, kind, humourous and artistic lady.

Ernie,I’m sending you warm thoughts and deepest sympathy on your great loss of the lovely Kate.I remember well when you first met her during the71/72 season when we were sharing Rugby rooms in Trinity. I well remember her great smile and great sense of humour,caring with a strong core of goodness.

Ernie, so sorry to learn of your enormous loss. Much time has passed since we last crossed paths. In fact, it was dinner at my place with one of your sons over 30 years ago after a rabbit shoot near Maynooth. That said, I have several strong memories of our time together, including your wonderful wedding day.

Sarah, Tom and family, my heart is heavy for you and the grief you must be feeling. Your mum was a beacon of light. My memories of her are always of smiles and positivity. We never really die. We only step off the bus to the next location. And there we wait for our loved ones. Maybe it’s a new life or maybe it’s just the next. We won’t know. But I do believe your mum touched this one with all her magic and left a wisp in the wind around everyone she met. Through all of you, her story will live on u tip you all meet again.

A light has gone out in all our hearts with the death of Kate. Such a gentle, gentle person, she made our world so wonderful by loving the simple things. A line in nature..the turn of a dogs paw..the honesty of somenthing well intended. Then her wonderful laugh. The world was always special in her company. She spread tranquility and calm as a matter of course and half the time we didnt notice. I always left her company a fuller person. She is gone to higher things. We are here at a loss because such a lovely woman graced our moments. I pray for Hoppy and all the family that in these coming days the deep sadness we and they know will be a reminder of the joy personified in the lovely Kate.

Vanessa, Sam, Phil, Zara, Ben, Amanda and Mell would like to extend their deepest condolences to Hoppy, Tom, Sarah, Liz, Ed and all the family for the loss of Kate. She was a beautiful person and much loved by all that knew her. We are so lucky to have had her in our lives and grateful that, although we live in Australia, we have maintained communication over the years. We have also spent time with her when she has visited us in the land of oz or when we have been in Ireland. Vanessa, Sam and Phil were also appreciative to be able to see Kate on a recent visit to Dublin in June/July. We have many wonderful memories and Kate will always be in our hearts.
