It is always sad bidding farewell to "an old friend"... Kate (who I affectionately called Katie..) spent a few years working with us at Christies Estates in Donnybrook. it was not long before she became much more than a colleague, she became a "friend", a friendship and a professional connection that would endure to the end.

I am so saddened and shocked to hear of the passing of Kate. I haven’t seen Kate for a long time and wasn’t aware of her illness. We worked together in Gunne Estate Agents in Ballsbridge many years ago. I actually was involved in interviewing and recruiting Kate. She had a great bubbly personality and I could readily see her sense of sensitivity with people. I hope you will all carry great memories of Kate.

It is often said that we will not see the likes of her again… but it’s safe to say that it is 100% true in the case of your amazing Kate. She was the most trustworthy, genuine, caring, kind-hearted, wickedly funny, straight-talking and fun-loving person you could wish to have in your life. Her pride and joy - her family - were always at the forefront of her thoughts, and a huge smile took over her face whenever she mentioned you. She taught me so much from a very young age, and never more so than the last few months when she showed me how to live and be yourself, to the last.

May her love, determination, strength and gutsiness live on in each of you, and get you through the heartache of missing this fiercely wonderful woman.
