Very sad to hear of Katherine’s passing. While I never met her I have the honour of having one of her dogs, a stunning little Saluki girl, Afijah (Affie) If a dog reflects the characteristics of its owner then from what I have learned here, Affie has many of Katherine’s. She is gentle, reserved, shy yet gregarious and looks at you as if she knows something you don’t. My sincere condolences to the family of a lovely lady I have never met but have the honour of a connection with through her beautiful dog

So sorry to belatedly hear of Kate’s untimely death.Worked with Kate for many years ,a person of integrity professionalism and kindness to those in her care.Will continue to remember her while on my trips to Caherciveen via Castleisland.

Dear Family, My condolences on the loss of Katie. Katie was a good friend of mine. I met her in the early seventies in Edingborough, where we both trained to become midwives, together with Mary and Angela. She was friendly, funny and full of good stories. We met up multiple times after the course, either in Ireland, Scotland or the Netherlands. In 1975 she came to visit us in the Netherlands and I remember her singing one evening 'The Last Rose of Summer' for us, and I was impressed by her performance. I also have fond memories of visiting Katie's mother in Castle Island I feel Katie's parting as a loss, at the same time I am grateful for the presence she had in my life. I am thankful that I could attend the funeral online, a ceremony I very much appreciated. I wish you strength in carrying this big loss. Love from Henny van As, the Netherlands

I am so sad to hear Kate has passed. She was a beautiful person and a loving soul. Her love of her dogs was such a joy for her, for so many years, like he Mom Kitty, she loved the creatures of this world. Be at peace Kate in heaven with you Mom and Dad and many loved family.

We first met in 1972, and became friends. We continued for 52 years across the miles, you always had a special place in my heart which will continue until we meet again. You were always a beautiful and caring person, I shall miss you.
