I had the good fortune to have shared a special time with Katherine when we worked in the entertainment at Dun Guaire Castle…..that was a special time for us ..…I can remember saying “oh! we’ll never be this happy again! “ I was immediately corrected by yet another of our sister entertainers ( Barbara Ennis ) that “we would perhaps never be that carefree again”……how true !
I am so sad to hear that our friend Katherine has passed away ! She was full of life, full of “divelment” and full of talent.

A dear friend who was very talented and full of fun and laughter. We shared many happy times in Stradbally sometimes till the early hours of the morning. Even through her suffering Katherine was always cheerful and didn't complain. She loved her animals and would never leave any strays hungry or out in the cold. Martin, and Eire, Katherine's sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, former colleagues in Bunratty Castle, and Dunguaire Castle, it was with great sadness I learned of Katherine's passing, bringing back memories of some wonderful times we shared in Durty Nellys and Dunguire back in the 70's. Thank you Katherine for all the fun and good times we had on those much looked forward to visits to Clarinbridge. As indeed was yours, my abiding memory too will always be we singing aloud in Tesco's underground car park that much loved hymn - 'Nearer My God to Thee'. Venue notwithstanding, we sang it with much reverence. The customers loved it! Today, Katherine, you are indeed near to God.
