Was watching Nationwide and was thinking how well she looked and how well she came across. Was saddened then to hear the news at the end she had passed. My deepest sympathies on Kathleen’s death. What a heart ache for you all. I watched her on TV the other night being her typical self, putting wrongs to right in her own simple way. The corner of Thomas street and Meath street will be an empty place without her.
What a great character and a reminder of how life used to be on the stalls along Thomas street.
She was a terrific example of a hard working woman, rearing her family to do right always and never allowing them to go without.
May she rest in God’s loving arms until we all meet again

I often bought plants for the garden from Kathleen. She would advise me on how to care for them, and we would go on to chat about everything and anything. She was a wonderful character, I will miss her. Thomas St. won’t be the same without her.

Kathleen was different and absolutely original. Brave yet vulnerable. Tough yet kind. Decent and honest with customers and suppliers. Loved and respected by so many. She was passionate about her community and heartbroken about the drug dealing and addiction introduced into the Liberties. She wanted to cure all her neighbours' children who had succumbed. I do not think I ever met a more generous, giving and caring person.

I will miss her as a friend and frequent visitor. She left us too soon. My house is full of exotic plants given as gifts over the years and the garden dotted with peonies and hydrangea that she planted herself. If it is difficult for me to comprehend that Kathleen is gone; it must therefore be awful for Catherine and Dave. She has raised you to the highest standards and there can be little doubt that you will continue with her traditions on her special corner of Meath and Thomas Street. My sympathies to both of you and her treasured Katie and of course to Dave's girls and to her brother John.

To Kathleen’s family, I would like to say how very sorry I am to hear of the death of your beloved mother and grandmother.
Kathleen’s love, pride and knowledge of the Liberties was so unique.
We shared many conversations over the years from politics to plants and flowers. I will miss her presence on the corner of Thomas St./Meath St.

Kathleen was such a lovely lady. I started getting flowers and wreaths from her some years ago when I began attending St. James's with my husband. I enjoyed my chats with her about the flowers and plants, her travels and life in general. She was so friendly, helpful and kind and she loved sharing her memories of her beloved Liberties. My sincere condolences to her family, friends and community at this very sad time.

We are so incredibly sorry to hear of the passing of Kathleen. From the moment Champlain students touched down in The Liberties each semester Kathleen was usually the first person they met! She went out of her way to welcome everybody into her community, giving them advice, stories and even bringing them on day trips!!

Kathleen was the heartbeat of The Liberties and a true icon. Her corner will never be the same without her and we are thinking of her family at this time.

Thank you Kathleen for your generosity and friendship. You will be deeply missed.

We didn't just lose a piece of living history, one of the last Dublin legends, but we lost one of the kindest, most loving people I've ever encountered. No one made me feel welcome in the Liberties like Kathleen. I guess I'll never get her those pints I owe her. My love to the family, I'm here if you ever need anything.
