Thinking of you at this time Caitriona,May & Mella and the extended family on the loss of Kathleen.May she rest in peace.
My sincerest condolences to Caitriona, May, Mella, and all the extended family on the loss of Kathleen. Our thoughts are with you during this time. May she rest in peace.
Our sincere sympathies to Fionnuala, Caitríona and Éamann and all of the Hegarty family on your mother's passing. Out thoughts are with you at this very sad and difficult time.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.
Our deepest condolences to our colleagues Fionnuala and Alva, and their family, on the passing of Kathleen. Our thoughts are with you at this very difficult time. May she rest in peace.
My deepest sympathy to all the family. Kathleen was a wonderful neighbour and I worked with her in TUDublin .
A Fhionnuala, a Chaitríona, agus a Éamainn, ní maith liom bhur mbris.
Solas na bhFlaitheas d'anam Chaitlín, agus go dtuga Dia grásta an tsóláis daoibhse, agus do gach a mbaineann le Caitlín.
Bhí mé féin agus Caitlín ar cheardlann soiteanna le Paddy Quealy na blianta ó shin ar Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy. Bean an–éirimiúil, an–chúirtéiseach ba ea Caitlín, agus riamh ó shin, is é mo thuairim gurb é soit an Caledonian an soit is fearr de shoiteanna Cho. an Chláir. Beidh meas go ceann i bhfad ar scoláireacht Chaitlín agus Niocláis Uí Chearbhalláin.
Sincerest sympathies to Kathleen's children Fionnuala, Caitríona and Éamann, her grandchildren, her brother Éamonn and her extended family at this sad time.

Kathleen was an outstanding person, performer, teacher and scholar. Her research work will be of immense value for generations to come.

Her Requiem Mass in Terenure was so dignified and a commemoration, that no doubt, would have pleased her.

Ceol na n-aingeal go gcloise sí anois agus gura móide teaghlach Dé a hanam dílis.

Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís.

Oilibhéar Ó hEidhin
Our sincere condolences to all the family. She will be a big loss. May she RIP. She was a legend! Will never be forgotten.
My deepest sympathy to all the family on the sad passing of Kathleen, She was a lovely lady, May she rest in peace.
Caitriona, May, Mella, and extended family, we are so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear mother. May her gentle soul rest in everlasting peace.
I was very sorry indeed to learn of the passing of Kathleen Hegarty. Among much else, she was a formidably gifted scholar and editor of Irish traditional music whose work on the great collectors (including Patrick Weston Joyce, William Forde and John Edward Pigot) represents a seminal contribution to Irish musicology. Her collaborations with Nicholas Carolan in this regard (as in their beautifully-produced edition of the Pigot Collection published by the Irish Traditional Music Archive as recently as last year) handsomely attests to her imperishable legacy in the annals of Irish musical scholarship. Kathleen will be much missed by her family, friends and former colleagues, not least for her shrewd and laconic sense of humour, her acute musicianship and her quietly-voiced but unmistakable intellectual acumen. But she will also be remembered by generations of Irish music scholars for the impeccable quality and forensic detail of her recensions and textual criticism. Go raibh suaimhneas síoraí uirthi.
Harry White, University College Dublin.
Comhbhrón ó chroí leat a Éamainn & le Miriam, bhur gclann agus le do mhuintir ar fad. An-bhrón orm an scéala a chloisteáil. Go dtuga Dia misneach daoibh na laethanta uaigneacha seo.
Máirín, An Cheathrú Rua.

Please accept my condolences on the death of your mother Kathleen. May she rest in peace. May many happy memories console you as you mourn her passing. Thinking of you all at this time. Susanne Coleman (Mac Artain)
Sincere condolences to Kathleen’s family.
She was Head of Keyboard Studies at DIT (now TUDublin) for a number of years and many of the current and retired staff have very fond memories of her.
Kathleen was cultured and elegant. Behind that quiet demeanour there was a mischievous sense of humour.
She will be greatly missed.
May she rest in peace.
On behalf of the Keyboard staff at TU Dublin Conservatoire.
A Chaitriona,
Comhbhrón ó chroí ar bhás do mháthair.
Ar dheis Dé a hanam dílis.
Diarmuid
My sincere condolences to all the family on the loss of Kathleen. She was a wonderful colleague and friend over many years in TU Dublin (formerly DIT). She has left an invaluable body of work in the area of Traditional Irish Music which will be a rich and scholarly resource for future generations. Her contribution to the field will never be forgotten. I will also remember her for her perceptive, thoughtful and entertaining conversations during those Tuesday lunches over many years.
