My condolences to the Feehan family at this time. I have great memories of Kathleen as my teacher in Gaile NS. She was one of the few people that wanted me to exploit my talent as an artist. Taking her advice I won first prize in the art competition at the Thurles Show in the mid sixties and received a cheque for ten shillings. May the light of Heaven shine upon you and rest in peace.

To Anna, Sarah, Breda, Brian, Jim and all the Feehan and Moloney family,
my deepest sympathies on the passing of the incomparable Kathlyn (my second mammy as we always joked). I am filled with a mixture of sadness but also fond memories of my times with Kathlyn. She was an intelligent, witty and warm woman who was always a pleasure to be around. She was everyone’s favourite teacher (including my own), mainly as a direct result of her fairness and kindness to all the children that she taught over the years. In the over 30 years I’ve known her, she always welcomed me in her home, often with the offer of a chocolate biscuit and a cup of coffee. She was the first person (after much convincing) to get me to try red wine (pinot noir was her favourite) which we did enjoy together over the years over an impromptu Irish history lesson whilst having a chat at the kitchen table. That glint in her eye and wry smile before she broke into a well-loved showtune, will also be sorely missed.
Thinking of you all today.

To Anna, Sarah and all the Feehan family, im extremely sorry to hear about the passing of Kathleen. She was an amazing lady first and foremost but also an amazing character. I have some great memories of often meeting her down the town maybe coming out of a shop and she would give a quick quip or line that would just make ya snigger or smile. She was always up for the craic and such a kind soul. She will be missed and may she rest in peace.
