I was so sorry to hear of your Mams passing. I will always treasure the memories I have of your beautiful Mam, especially the time she took myself and Billy in when our house got burned in Blackabbey. We were made so welcome then and everytime we called to see Mrs Kennedy.
I can only say that all the tributes paid to your Mam are so richly deserved.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to all the Kennedy family. Mrs Kennedy instilled a life long love of learning in me as well as a real grá for Irish. When I left Shountrade school it was like leaving a loving little family unit with Mrs Kennedy as the doting mother. She was a lady who taught so much to so many but it was how she taught with love and kindness that will forever remain with me. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis

Sincere sympathies to the Kennedy family on the passing of Kathleen. What a wonderful person! So many fantastic memories of “Mrs Kennedy” during my time in Shountrade. Lunchtime was as good as any county final. Mrs Kennedy would take her seat on a big rock at the side of the pitch and referee the match from there, and there would be skin & hair flying, great times! Loved meeting her after matches down throughout the years and getting her thoughts on the game and what went well & where to improve etc. I remember one championship match where I got sent off and Dad said on the way home in the car not to mention anything to Mum, sure enough Mum asked how the game went and we both said fine. The next morning Mum was in the village and low & behold who did she meet only Mrs Kennedy and they were chatting away and Mrs Kennedy said “wasn’t it an awful pity that Con got sent off, shouldn’t have happened at all”. Of course she meant well, Mum came home and both Dad & I got the little finger, “Come here to me the two of ye!!”. Dad & I often used to recall that and have a good laugh about it. Kathleen had such a positive impact on so so many people and she will be dearly missed, a true lady, a great Gael, just an all round lovely person, may she rest in peace!

Wonderful memories of a beautiful person... the beloved Mrs Kennedy . Always gentle warm kind and smiling ..always so interested in our lives and of our children when I would meet her at the petrol pumps at home in Curraghbeg . I think of her fondly having a laugh with my Dad when she d call to the Garage ...and dancing with Dad at my wedding ...Jock Ewing as she fondly called him ...
