Very sad to hear that Kathleen has passed on. Kathleen was an important part of my life from my teenage years when she joined forces with my mother (Brigid Dempsey) to run the shop on Main Street.
One of my lasting memories was how she gave me the heads up when I was in 'trouble' at home and how she always stood up for me. Memories come back of her amazing decorating for the procession and she always had a duster in her hand whatever the day. My mother adored Kathleen and felt like she was another daughter. They were great friends and with Madge Harney, another great business woman, they made an amazing trio. In my mothers later years, Kathleen protected and supported her both practically and emotionally.
Thank you Kathleen for everything. May you rest in peace.

Sad to hear of Kathleens passing. She was such an important part of my childhood. My grandmother owned Dempseys shop on Main Street and Kathleen was her right hand woman and great friend. We all loved the summers 'working' in the shop with Kathleen. She was so patient with us. And such fun too. Kathleen was an amazing friend and support to my grandmother and also my uncle. Kathleen was a true gem and always part of my memories. May she rest in peace.

I have lovely memories of going into Kathleen in Dempseys Newsagents. Nana used to go in for the Woman's Weekly and I loved seeing The Irish Dolls and all the souvenirs in the back section. Kathleen was always a pleasure to meet when going down Windmill Lane. May she rest in peace.
