What a lovely lady , rest in peace ...
I was so sadden to hear about Auntie Kathleen passing. My heart goes out to Joe and Marie and their families. This past July, Joe's Family and my own spent a sunny day in Dunari with Auntie Kathleen as she easily strolled the Park! Another day we sat in the kitchen on Main Street, she told stories of the her life, leaving home at 14 to go work in Down, then Belfast, London, finally back home to Kingscourt. She talked about the "pool", the chipper, dinners on Thursdays when the farmers came in from the Sales. The Chipper holds fond memories for many around the town and world now. She lived a full life, worked hard, experienced so much and always looked brightly ahead. Most of all she cherished and adored Joe, Tommy, Joe, Marie, Laura, Justin and her Grandchildren. She was so proud of you and of your accomplishments. Family always came first in the McCaul home. I will always remember how kind she was to my family when we moved back in the early 80's. The McCaul's and the Maghercloone Hand's may have lived thousands of miles apart from the us, Chicago Hands, but we we're raised as if we were only miles apart and have remained very close every since, mostly due to the strong ties Auntie Kathleen, Laurence and my Dad, Johnny shared. We will all miss Auntie Kathleen but her love of life, her gentle and kind nature, her never saying "the bad word", and her love of her family and much more will always make me recall what a truly remarkable and one of kind women she was.
Condolences too joe on the death of your mother. May she rest in peace.
