I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Kathleen , she was a beautiful spirit I met her many times with Denise when she was up in Dublin cancer care ,very brave, humble ,in the face of adversity cancer so warm and kind , many happy memories we all hanging out Clontarf her love for Denise and Dermot so apparent , Denise was an amazing daughter ! A mother's love is eternal we will all meet again , The dead are never dead in our heart ,

I am just now reading all the kind words that all of our friends and acquaintances that has left and it is very comforting at this sad time.
When reading Cathal Farrelly’s it brought back memories, I am that baby that he met when my mother was cooking the 5 Chickens on a open fire.
I remember how she used two to three pots hanging on a crook and cooking all sorts of delicious meals. There was a unique taste that this method of cooking gave to the food and it was beautiful.
The open heart fire was the heart of our home at that time as we didn’t have any television in those early days.
We would have had sat around that fire at night as a family and conversation flowed.
There was always someone calling and the door was never locked, all gathered round that fire and all sorts of stories was told, some true and some maybe not.There was very little home comforts compared to today but there was other simple things that made our house a home.
I know Mammy would want us to rejoice and not be sad, so we have to build now on the legacy that she gave us.
