Kathleen was one of a kind.
My memories of Kathleen go back a long while in fact around 55 years to be precise.From my early years I recall travelling from Laharden alone or with my father Paddy Moloughney to visit Aunty Ann in Ballybrack and always stopping off on the way to visit Kathleen and Jim. We were always made so welcome with tea and whatever was available to eat, and extra supplies summoned from local shop. When I was a student nurse many’s the time I hitch hiked to Ballybrack again breaking the journey for a warm welcome at Kathleen’s
Kathleen and Jim attended our wedding in Dublin in 1985 and since emigrating to Australia in 1994 we would always call to Jim and Kathleen on our return visits every 2 years and sometimes oftener… the same gracious warm welcome always awaited us..we called many times after Jim dying and Jim and all” the faithful departed “ were spoken of. Kathleen’s funeral mass last month was the last mass that Jerry and I attended together as we chatted afterwards about what an exceptional woman she was. I know that Kathleen , Jerry and all our loved ones are happy now
