Very sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs O Hara. Wonderful memories of being a part of her choir in the Mercy many years ago.
She was an inspirational teacher and a gifted choir director and also a lovely person. Sincere sympathy to all of the family. May she rest in peace.

My dear Kathleen, I have lost a mentor and friend of 30 years and I am heartbroken. The concerts, orchestras, musical society shows and of course the Amaryllis Singers - we all made wonderful music together leaving a treasure trove of memories which I hold even dearer now that you have left us. It wasn't all work of course! The many parties in San Marino by the sea, the laughter, jokes and the fun we had are still recounted to this day. I recall lunch-dates, afternoon teas (from the most exquisite china) in Kathleen's favourite room and the endless conversation which always flowed seamlessly. An extraordinary person, Kathleen was unassuming, humble, loyal, generous and kind and she shared her musical talent selflessly throughout her long and wonderful life. She had a pleasant and calming demeanour which endeared her to everyone. My love and condolences go to her sister Sheila and to Kathleen's daughters Susan, Deirdre, Lucie and Shaza and their families. Kathleen was a one-off, there's no doubt about it. I have no doubt that she is now in the arms of her dear Frank and Michael and her siblings who have gone before her. I am honoured to have known Kathleen and so grateful to have had her influence and teaching in my life. Until we meet again, love David x

It was a privilege to be a member of the church choir in Rosses Point with Mrs O'Hara as director, and I have very fond memories of Christmas and Easter Mass rehearsals with the many wonderful characters in the choir. Her patience, talents and humour were exceptional, and Kathleen was respected by all. May she now Rest in Peace x

Her musical talent and dedication to her work inspired her students with a lifelong love of music. Kathleen gave so much of her time training student, adult and church choirs, rehearsing and directing musicals, teaching piano, travelling to choir competitions, feiseanna etc and all this brought so much joy to so many. She will be remembered forever for her exceptional musical skills, her gentle and generous nature and her beautiful smile. Kathleen O‘Hara, a very special, wonderful person. Singing under her leadership for many years with the ‚Amaryllis‘ Choir enriched my life in Sligo to no end. I also enjoyed immensely the little chats with her before rehearsals and have kept her memory after leaving Sligo in an extra place in my heart. My sincere sympathy to Kathleen‘s daughters, to Sheila and the extended family.
