Kathleen made an outstanding contribution to Rathduane N.S., leaving an ever lasting legacy of dedication, trojan work & inspirational passion for teaching to all of her pupils.
She was a much cherished member of our close-knit Ballydaly & Cullen communities & we were so blessed & privileged to have had you, Kathleen, in our midst.
You were always so happy & jolly, with a smiling, cheerful face, a great sense of humour, always full of praise for everyone!
You were a wonderful mentor & coach, showing such resilience, positivity, encouragement, wisdom & solid, sensible advice.
Your genuine care and enormous heart made a real and significant difference to so many lives.
Your generosity & indeed, the generosity of the Philpott family knows no bounds…
You exuded & radiated such kindness & warmth.

We have, indeed, lost a true gem.
Kathleen, you were much loved and so admired by all.

Dear Áine, John, Dónall, Christina and extended family, we were truly sad and shocked to hear of Kathleen’s sudden passing. It was over forty years ago that we were fortunate enough to have been directed out to Philpotts in Ballydaly on our first trip to Millstreet Show. They accommodated both our horse and ourselves! We continued to enjoy their wonderful hospitality for many years thereafter. Such fond memories of being welcomed into the heart of your family. A woman whose generosity knew no bounds. We loved the trip to Ballydaly each summer as we watched you all grow and progress in life.

My sincere sympathy to the Philpott family , on the loss of your mother .
It's hard to imagine Ballydaly without Mrs P , as she was called in our house.For as long as I can remember, we had connections, Sports/Athletic events,Community Games,when Aine and myself were training and competing together, Sunday Mass chats,secondary school in Colaiste Ide,not to mention the many times my father called to Philpotts ,on his way home from Vaughans ,with the horsebox and mare and he always got a great welcome from Kathleen and Christy.
Shared interests of teaching,farming,sports, and their deep faith, which took them both on Pilgrimage to Lough Derg a few times,led to a long valued friendship.
Kathleen was a true friend to my mother, full of good humour and common sense and had continued to visit all these years,keeping her connected and making sure she was doing well.We will all really miss her and are truly grateful for her sincere kindness.
May she now be reunited with her husband Christy and family, in heaven.
