Peter, Brendan and Catherine, Mary and I send our deepest sympathy to you all on the death of your dear mother Kathleen. I have great memories of many visits to the Ryans in Naas Road and even before then. Our daughter, Neasa, remembers Kathleen with great fondness as her English Teacher at Muckross. May she rest in peace.

I was a student of Mrs. Rigney's in Muckross Park and have very fond memories of her classes. She was a fantastic teacher. Thinking of her family and loved ones at this time.

I had the honour of being one of Mrs Rigney's students in Muckross. She was a wonderful and inspirational English teacher. For those of us not naturally gifted in the subject she always managed to make everything make sense. I have thought of her often over the years.

As so many previous past pupils have remarked, I too had the good fortune to have been one of Mrs Rigneys students in Muckross Park in the early 80's. A wonderful teacher but also a truly lovely person. In addition my father Des (now 96 yrs young) along with his late brothers Arthur and Bill, grew up next door to Kathleen on the Naas Road and dad has very fond memories of her. We would like to extend our sympathies to Kathleens family. May she rest in peace.

Miss Rigney was that stand out teacher who we all respected because she spoke to us as equals. I loved when she would introduce a new poem and rather than telling us what it was about, she teased it out from our suggestions, like she was reading it for the first time herself. She was a fantastic educator and I am often grateful for the love of language she gave me.

May she enjoy her eternal reward. Rest in Peace Miss Rigney.

Like many other past pupils in Muckross I have very fond memories of her, an amazing teacher, she devoted so much of herself to those lessons. May she rest in peace.

I have never forgotten Mrs. Rigney having had the privilege of 1st to 4th year (1979-83) in her English class. So many memorable moments with such an illuminating teacher. She was a supremely gifted teacher who brought herself fully in to the room. She would bring in so many extra-curriculur things she had found interesting, both from literature and from life, ranging from personal anecdotes to pertinent advice, while still covering the curriculum. I met her on a bus once after I had left school and she told me of the great pleasure it was to see students who were not obviously gifted in the subject developing their gifts, more so than teaching the gifted. To the Rigney family my sincere condolences on the loss of your mother.

Catherine, Peter and Brendan, we were so sorry to hear of the death of your mother, Kathleen. Our mother, Betty, speaks of her often and with great fondness. I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. Rigney. She taught me English during my time in Muckross.

She was a remarkable instructor; clear, calm and always generating discussion with gaggles of girls who were learning how to articulate their thoughts effectively and interact in the world. I’ve often thought of her since.

Ms. Rigney taught me English almost 30 years ago. She shared her knowledge of and love for her subject so kindly, generously and enthusiastically. She was a lovely teacher and person. My sincere condolences to all her family and may she rest in peace.

To Catherine, Peter and Brendan. Sincere sympathies on the death of your beloved mother. Kathleen introduced me to many great books and authors over the years, some of which are still my favourites. She was a welcome regular addition in our kitchen for the chat, always a source of great conversation, and always leaving us the better for her visit. Tho, we did worry about her mad dashes across the road in heavy traffic! Hopefully, she will be re-united now with her beloved Jim. Catherine, especially, you looked after Kathleen with exceptional care.
