To the Mullen family we are so sorry for your loss. Kathryn was a very special person and was taken from this world far too soon. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

To Mary K, Maureen, Dee, Dara, Lorraine, Conor, Seán, & Kathryn's fellow members of BookClub & SanityFix groups…and others outside of extended family...please know that you are all very much in our thoughts at this sad time for you too. Condolences are expressed primarily to family, initially standing at home beside the reposing coffined remains of a loved departed. Subsequently, through chance encounters, cards, messages on the RIP website, or to those present in the church or graveside front row. All such and more have been gratefully received by Anne, Tommy, Davy, Ailish and myself. These continue to be a huge comfort at this beginning, this time of processing the deep melancholic loss & void that is Grief, as well as its frequent ambushes of heavy memory or tempered regret. And yet many others are bereaved, less visible and not in the front row. Within the embrace of her Life, our wonderful sister had a relaxed passion & great empathy for people. From many it is evident, 2 weeks on from her passing, that this ran both ways, in the words, tears, stories and anecdotes that have come our way. From within her recent & former Montessori pupils, parents & colleagues, plus the social family she gathered to herself. May our own condolences to you & the many others within these pages guide us all on our continuing journey without our beloved Kathryn, towards a state of ‘Respair’, nudged along by memories of her quiet fortitude, good humour & optimism during her prolonged illness.

So very, very sorry to hear this news. Kathryn was like a kind auntie to our boys as she guided them through their pre school years. The kids would run to the car in the morning as they couldn’t get to Kathryn’s school fast enough. She was a wonderful warm and cheerful person with a deep sense of purpose, humanity and friendship. May you rest easy Kathryn and journey well.

Deepest condolences to all of Kathryns family on her passing. I first met Kathryn at a preschool conference many years ago and i was just in awe of her. Such a beautiful warm woman and as soon as i had children i knew i wanted them in her care. My 2 children attended Scoil na Nóg and they both still talk about her as their favourite teacher ever. I'm shocked to hear this news. RIP.
I had the privilege of doing my work experience in her beautiful school many yrs ago. I went onto have my own school for many yrs.
I have fond memories of my time working along side Kathryn.
Gone but never forgotten. So sad what cancer does to a family..

I met Kathryn once when invited to dinner at Patrick's home, and remember her as sweet in nature, with a passion for education, and humility about her professipnal achievements at a young age. I realise how wonderful a sister she has been to Patrick (her brother), and imagine this to be the case for other siblings.
