I was in Katie's year in college and I remember her as being one of the liveliest and most approachable people in our class. She was committed to getting the English year to socialise outside of class and succeeded so much bringing a lot of us together.

While I didn't stay in close contact with Katie after college, I always enjoyed her updates on social media and it's clear she lived life to the absolute fullest, whether it was out and about with friends or some really wonderful photos with family around Christmas and other holiday periods.

I'll always think of Katie as being joyful, beautiful, intelligent, and incredibly funny.

Im so sorry for this heartbreaking loss. Katie and I met as inpatients on the UCLH ward and she was the bright light in a dark time. She brought joy and fun to our many days on the ward together for the past 8 month, for which I’ll eternally be grateful for. I’m so thankful to the luck that put us in the beds next to each other and to have been able to spend so much time with her - I’ll miss her and her warm bright spirit dearly. Forever in my thoughts xxx

Dear Tania, Declan and Jessica,

I'll always remember Katie as one of my first friends. From the get-go in primary school she was fiercely intelligent, extremely eloquent, inquisitive; she refused to accept things we were told unless she understood the logic behind them (I believe I remember her going to great lengths to keep Santa letters between herself and Santa!). Many of us looked up to her as the authority on essentially everything. I recall myself and my mum being in awe when she examined the Cadbury's hot chocolate label to look at the grams of fat at a young age, to see if it fit with her LCHAD diet. She was a true expert on LCHAD and the support and advocacy she provided to others is evident when reading all the messages of love from others in the LCHAD community.

It's been a few years since I saw her last but every time that we met over the years it felt like we could pick up right where we left off, as old friends. She has left a lasting impression and some lovely memories. Katie, you will be greatly missed. X

Bryan introduced me to Katie as someone he met at a college party once and then became an instant friend. After meeting her, I understood how that would happen. She was smart, funny, bright, curious, silly and deeply caring. Anytime we hung out together, Bryan and I were rapt listening to her talk about complex societal issues or the latest skincare development. We bonded over our love of Conan O'Brien and it was a joy to see her light up as she talked about her love for her family. I didn't know her for very long and yet I feel heartbroken to lose her, so I send all my love to her family and close friends who will be feeling this loss the hardest. Katie will always be one of the good ones and I will cherish my time with her for the rest of my life.
