My Mum came from lovely Leitrim,
In the lovely Emerald Isle,
Whenever I think of it,
It always brings a smile;
A place called Limanish Fenagh,
A lovely lovely place,
With lots of lovely people,
With a smile on every face
We went there each summer,
'Across' the road lived the Rowleys,
Another lovely family,
Full of laughter & glee;
There was Benny & his children,
Including Michael John,
Many a night there was a party,
Many a night there was a song
Michael John remained on the farm,
When his siblings went away,
But they'd have thought of the lovely place
Each & every day;
Michael married Katie Kavanagh,
A lady of joy & delight,
Who brought to the homestead,
More beauty & light
They had a lovely family,
Two girls & a boy,
Bringing into their lives,
More happiness & joy;
Mary. Paidh, Geradine,
Made their family five,
And with God's love & joy,
They onward did gratefully strive
I don't get to Leitrim so often now,
But on it's beauty I often reflect,
And in memory of Katie & her family,
I will today pray & genuflect;
For now she's joined Michael,
Leaving many a heavy heart,
But with prayer & memories,
From them we're never really apart
For she's now with the Divine,
Radiating peace & sunshine,
With lovely God,
Making our life journies easier and fine;
And when I'm next in Fenagh Abbey,
Where many of my relatives also rest,
I'll say a pray for them all,
For she like they were certainly one of the very best.
My lovely Mum, was Nelly (Ellen) Melia, Limanish

I was so sorry to hear Katie Rowley has died. I was sorry to be unable to get to the funeral and because of the covid 19 . I remember meeting her and I send my deepest sympathies to Mary and Sr. Geraldine. She will be in my prayers and I will offer Mass for the repose of her soul.
