Farewell Kay and condolences to your family on your passing. You will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing you and we will miss you at our outings and events. May you rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to all Kay’s family.
It was always a great pleasure to meet Kay ( and Tom) at musical events.
To Diarmaid, family and extended family I send my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences on the sad death of Kathleen. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the funeral ceremonies but I watched the beautiful Mass online, a fitting tribute to Kathleen. May Kathleen rest in peace with Tom now.
Dear Kay, I find it almost impossible to express my sadness at your passing. When my late husband Don and I first met you, well over 20 years ago, you and Tom took us two blow-ins into your lives in an unforgettable way. You were among our very first real Irish friends. And what wonderful, special friends you were. We shared meals (almost always at your place I rather guiltily feel), swopped plants and gardening chatter, wandered around gardens ( often at our place), and above all shared music at Bantry.
My last abiding image is of you and Tom sitting rather precariously on a wall by the harbour in Bantry, eating cone ice creams like a pair of teenagers. You were always wonderfully generous and thoughtful, always ready to share and solve practical problems and always full of life and optimism. Thank you for so many happy memories. My thoughts are with all your family and many friends who will feel the loss of your vibrant spirit. May you rest in peace. Fondly, Joy
I was very sorry to learn of Kay's passing. It is with great fondness that I remember popping up to the house in recent years to teach Kay the piano; many memories of Bach's C minor Solfeggietto running up and down the keys (much to her frustration!!) - and indeed Debussy's Rêverie, a particular favourite of Kay's, and a piece I now affectionately associate with her. We had many conversations about music, opera, the arts - and I greatly admired her loyalty and commitment to supporting same whenever she could. My sincere condolences to the family; what a remarkable, generous and kind woman she was. She will be sorely missed by us all.
Sincere condolences to Diarmuid & Eva and all the Sheedy & Lynes family on the sad passing of Kathleen. We remember meeting Kathleen at all the Sheedy family celebrations in Bantry over the years, she was very kind and a real lady. May she Rest in Peace.

Dear the Lynes and Heffernan families, meeting with Kay was being absorbed in a gripping novel. I did tell her, on more than one occassion, that she should write a memoir. What a life filled to the fullest. Kate was truly a very special lady, elegant, kind, lots of fun and so much time in her heart for adults and children alike. So very sorry to hear of her passing. Based in the UK I watched her funeral online, what a beautiful celebration of her life. May Kay now rest in peace with her beloved Tom who was probably the luckiest man in Cork to be thoroughly spoilt by a fabulous wife.
