Our sincere condolences to Bob and all the family on their sad loss. Our dear friend Kay will long be remembered. We saw many good times over the last 17 years in Ballyporeen. Our shared interests brought us together and we enjoyed many hours at her table and on long walks. Kay was the best kind of friend, always there when needed and good company. She was justly proud of herself for all her great achievements, which were many, but mostly for making a welcoming and happy home for Bob and all the family. RIP Kay, sadly missed.

Sincere sympathy to Bob and family on the sad passing of Kay. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
I am deeply saddened by this amazingly brave and kind lady’s passing. We never met in person and yet we shared a bond, a bond borne out of a common battle we both fought.
Kay began her battle with pancreatic cancer 6 months after me. For the past 21/2 years we fought this evil cancer together. We had good times and not so good times but no matter how Kay was faring with her continuously debilitating chemotherapy regimens she never stopped asking how I was doing. I was honoured and fortunate enough to be in a position to offer periodic advice on our cancers to Kay, advice this lady accepted with humility and graciousness always preempting her messages to me with an apology ‘for troubling me’. Kay never troubled me, true friends are always there for one another, I was never troubled by Kay quite the opposite. Truth be told I drew comfort from Kay’s indomitable spirit, her ‘bring it on, it is what it is’ defiance in the face of her ongoing battle.
2 weeks before Kay passed she told me she was still managing to play pitch and putt, I knew Kay was struggling at that stage of her palliative care but how typical of her not to give in to the cancer. Kay’s passing has left me deeply sad, I remember how proud she was of her adored children, her deep love for Bob, her humour, her pragmatism and kindness but most of all I remember her amazing courage. Kay was more worried about Bob being alone after she died than death itself. How typical of her, how brave, how kind.
Rest in peace dear lady, I am a better person for having known you. God bless you, Bob and your boys are in my thoughts at this desperately sad time.
