I had the honour of attending the service in Glengeary to celebrate Keith's life.
The description of the man by family and close friends was very accurate. A kind , generous, considerate and giving man. I first met Keith in 1980 when , as a young apprentice draughtsman , I was assigned to him.
His knowledge of railway Enginering was legendary, and his ability to design railway curves ( transitions and circles ) was remarkable. He had tremendous patience in teaching me - a gifted communicator who knew his subject matter , but more importantly, knew how to impart that knowledge and was happy to spend the time and effort to ensure that I understood.
I consider it a privilege that I had such a mentor in my formative years as a railway professional.
May he rest in peace.

We Knew that Keith was ill and that God would call him home. and when the time came he left us and we have a gap in our lives. We are sad today but we rejoice that he is with his Heavenly Father - no more sorrow, no more pain. There is joy for evermore in the presence of his Lord and Saviour.
I will miss him for his faithfulness and friendship.
My prayer is that our Lord will give you His peace and strength and wisdom in the days ahead.
Love to all.

RIP Keith and condolences to Stuart and all Keith's family. I started in Iarnród Éireann in 1980 in Westland Row under Keith's wing, I think he was driving a Triumph Toledo back then, just one of many memories. He was a great teacher for me, took great time to explain everything, so knowledgeable, a kind gentleman and scholar, you left your mark on me Keith. Philip Conway, Station Master, Limerick.

Thoughts and prayers with Ruth and all the family as this sad and difficult time. Great memories of a great man. 🙏
My deepest sympathy to Ruth and the family. I was only 20 when introduced to Keith at a worship service on Sunday 24th February 1991. My abiding memory of Keith is of a kind, warm-hearted, sincere Christian who loved his wife, his family and his friends - including his dear canine friends Springer, Posie and Belle!
He also enjoyed the social aspects of church life and had a fantastic sense of humour. Keith told me I should aspire to be a shining lighthouse in my particular corner of the vineyard and his imitation of the late Derek Kennan had me rolling around on the floor with laughter. Even in church, Keith saw a place for (appropriate and respectful) humour. He would announce that "our next hymn is 'Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God' and we'll hold onto the loos". In 1993 we both chuckled after a prayer meeting at which someone prayed, "Lord, bless all those people living in the uninhabited parts of the world". So sleep well, dear friend, in your soft couch of ease. I look forward to seeing you again on that joyful resurrection morn!
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
