My condolences to the Hunt family on the loss of Keith. I remember doing a delivery trip on a 48’ cruiser with Keith , my Dad Jeanot Petch & Tom O’Leary from Crosshaven to Ayamonte in Southern Spain . Keith was a great shipmate and made our trip very enjoyable. When crossing the Bay of Biscay running downwind in a big sea Keith set up a competition between watches to see who could clock the fastest speed, I think we got up to over 14 knots and I recall my watch won. Jeanot recalled that Keith and I talked non-stop about football as the World cup was on and we received constant updates by text messages from our sons as we progressed down the Portuguese coast - we managed to find a pub to watch the final in Ayamonte - Germany won. Bon Voyage Keith.
Keith was a charming man with a wonderful personality. As a member of Tot's Family Pub in Ballygurteen, we have been very fortunate to have Bandon Gun Club visit us since perhaps the early Seventies. Keith was Master of Ceremonies every year at the Annual Christmas Party and everybody loved his fun and banter. At his rendition of "The Star of the County Down" he would ask me to join him and my sense of shyness and embarrassment was great but what an Honour it was for me.Keith, I will miss you dearly and until we meet again

To poppy and family so sorry to hear the sad news of the loss of your dear husband. , may he rest in peace xx
Reading through these condolences reminds me what an amazing person Keith was. I first heard of him when I was a pupil in Midleton College where his reputation as an outstanding sportsman carried before him. He was later to guide and protect me through my first rugby match for Wanderers RFC . During my time with Guinness I remember visiting Cork which was Keith's " kingdom" and you were his loyal subject ! We did a trade visit and in one pub I failed to finish my pint of Guinness . As we left the pub Keith had a quiet (!) word in my ear that I must never do that as the publican might think there was something wrong with the quality of the pint. His commitment to the company and the product was immense .
He was a legend in his own time and a wonderfully warm and vibrant person who I feel fortunate to have met .

Sending our love and thoughts to Holly, Poppy, Sam, Jamie and the greater family. Keith lived a full and physical life, a true man of the outdoors. He frequently recalled and compared unique memories with Peter of his school days at Midleton College. So grateful also for sharing his love of boats by sharing ‘Absolute Chaos’ with Samson ⛵️. He loved to share a laugh, a story and particularly an active adventure. He has passed his love of adventure onto his children, which I have benefitted greatly from. With gratitude. May Keith rest in peace.
Deepest sympathies to the Hunt family on the passing of your beloved Keith. May his gentle soul Rest in eternal Peace.
Dear Poppy, Holly, Sam and Jamie
We are so sorry to learn of the death of Keith.
Keith filled the generation between us and our parents Frank and Mary Murphy who knew him as we did. My mother described Keith as almost a master of ceremonies at the Dinghy Week's in Baltimore (I think he was at both), indeed we have a wonderfull slide of him with a champagne bottle filling glasses at a party during one of these events.
In our time we recall Keith at Oppy events with Sam.
Some years ago Keith asked me to do a slide show of archive slides of the Baltimore dinghy weeks at RstGYC, it was a great night, Keith seemed to know everyone, he was like the Lord Mayor of Dun Laoghaire!

Deepest sympathy to Poppy and family on the sad passing of Keith. Keith was a loyal member of our tennis group, (the usual suspects) for many a long year. Now that he has played his last serve and volley on this side, we wish him continued success on the other.
Sadly missed by all.

We fondly remember Keith’s trip to us here in Castletownbere for an afternoon’s shooting some years ago. Not only did he enjoy his sporting outing, he was great company over dinner and entertained us with his many adventures. Our sympathies to his family, of whom he spoke very highly. May your happy memories console you all at this sad time.
Deepest sympathies to Poppy, Jamie, Sam, Holly and the wider family on the passing of Keith. May he rest in peace
While I haven't met Keith for many years, we shared many momentous occasions in Baltimore long ago. One such was the dinghy race at Schull Regatta in 1955 or 56 when I crewed for him in a National 12. To our great delight we won! I went home and he collected the 2 pounds prize. He sent a message that he would get half the winnings to me. I heard nothing for several years when one of my brothers said to me "oh I met Keith Hunt outside the Savoy today and he said I owe you a pound and gave it to me!!'
I told Keith about it years later and he always asked me when we met. " Did you get the pound yet" I didnt and my brother took great delight in telling others about it!
We have many very happy memories of Keith in Baltimore over many years
and I can only wish sincere sympathy to all his beloved family on the very sad occasion of his death. May he rest in peace!

Dear Poppy, Sam, Holly & Jamie,
We always loved being in Uncle Keith's company. We admired his loyalty to family. Visiting his sister Anne in Vancouver to help her settle things in her final days. Regularly phoning to ask how his brother Ken is doing and coming to Dublin to see him, the staff in the Home still speak warmly of him. Lexy was so touched when he dropped everything to help her with Ken when we were in Australia. Perhaps the story of Keith that makes us smile the most is when he turned up at the Rotunda Hospital with a big bouquet of flowers to meet "the latest Hunt" (Suzanne) at 10pm! His booming voice reverberating as he charmed the terrifying Ward Sister into letting him in, she was putty in his hands! We will all miss his irrepressible spirit and zest for life. Loved and never forgotten - " the Dublin Hunts" Ken, Alan, Rose, Suzie, and Lexy

Dear Poppy and family, our deepest sympathy to you all on the passing of Keith. Thinking of you all at this sad time.
I'm deeply sorry to hear about Keith's passing. While I didn't know him personally, he must have been extraordinary to have raised someone as remarkable as Sam. My thoughts are with you and your family, and I wish you strength and comfort during this difficult time.
Holly and family. My condolences on your loss of Keith. My friendship with Keith was in the sailing world of the sixties out of DunLaoghaire. Racing together on various boats in what seems now to have been pretty hostile weather my recollection is of Keith coming off watch, soaking wet, with a grin from one ear to the other, and snuggling into a leeward bunk with a couple of bottles of stout. And always ready to go again.
May he rest in peace
