I was deeply saddened to hear about Ken Bruen's passing. His Jack Taylor series has been a constant companion in my life, offering solace, excitement, and a unique perspective on the world. Ken's talent for creating such vivid, flawed, and deeply human characters made his books feel like more than just stories—they were experiences.

I will miss the anticipation of a new Jack Taylor novel and how Ken's writing could transport me to the streets of Galway, making me feel every twist and turn of the plot. His work has left an indelible mark on me, and I am grateful for the moments of reflection and escape his books provided.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Ken Bruen's legacy will live on through his incredible body of work, and he will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of reading his books.

When the young Ken arrived at TCD in 1968 he made many friends . We were all very proud of his success and will miss his presence in the world ,as we do his siblings ,Noel ,Jess and Declan. Remembered with love .

Dear Phyl it is with great sadness and a feeling of uselessness that I take this opportunity to sympathise with both you and Grace. Unfortunately due to illhealth I could not attend Ken’s funeral. In a word Ken was a gentleman and he married a Princess who gave them the gift of his other Princess Grace. I hope to bump into you soon and have a chat and a coffee. He was a lovely gentleman and i always found him to be very friendly unassuming person.
I am very happy that i had the honour of hosting a Mayoral Reception for Ken when i was Mayor in 2004 which he richly deserved in the city that he dearly loved.
He will be a great loss particularly to Phil and Grace, his extended family and friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
