Dear Kenny
You were such a valiant and loving husband and a dear devoted father. You will be deeply missed.
I was just so glad to hear your voice last week. It brought back so many great memories; from the first time I met you back in Donabate in 1977, to your many Australian adventures (the yellow Datsun Sunny, the house in Carmel Street, pots of spuds boiling forever on the stove and fun at the Jellybean pool) and the many joyous times I stayed with you and your beloved Joanie and Gra, Sharrie and Lee over the years. I also remember the last minute trip you and Joanie made to Aus to surprise Mum for her 70th Birthday. I cherish the memory of the morning you both arrived in Sydney. We all sat on the steps of my house, drinking red wine and laughing insanely at Joan’s hilarious frustrations about the new airport smoking rules. You were always so ready for a laugh and you brought such joy to our family and we will treasure our joyful memories of you forever.
Love always Bishy & Mick

Our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of Ken Dunne, including his family. We hope that their cherished memories of Ken will stay with them forever, and eventually outweigh the sadness that they feel as a result of this tragic passing.
Sending our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to you all! Ken was such a gentle soul, with a wonderfully wicked sense of humour. We'll never forget the kindness, generosity and laughs that we've all shared with both him and Joan whenever we've visited Ireland. He'll always be missed! xxx
Deepest sympathy to all the family on Ken’s passing.
Ken’s death marks the severance of a vital link to our Irish family.
So much of my experience of Ireland over the years is bound up with memories of Joan and Ken. After walking into their house — coming straight in, the door always unlocked — we were wild with excitement as we went rushing into Joan’s outstretched arms. We spent so many happy hours in that place, revelling in the atmosphere: Joan’s outrageous wit tempered by Ken’s gentle humour.
Ken’s passing means the final disappearance of that place of comfort — always waiting to welcome us back to Trim and to Ireland.
May he rest in peace. Love in abundance to Ron, Gráinne, Sharon, Lisa and all the family. xxx

So sorry to hear of Kens passing. Sincere sondolence to all his family. We have great memories of travelling to the dances in Navan with Ken. And i drove the minibus for him many times. May he rest in peace.
My uncle Ken was much loved by my family in Australia and he will be deeply missed by us all. I guess he was the ideal partner for dear Joan; patient, loyal and funny. He loved a good laugh and I shared so many with the pair of them over the years - along with a few drinks, of course!
I got to know Ken well when they all came to Australia in 1980. I soon realised what a treasure of a man he was.
Ken’s humour was wry, dry, a bit off-beat you might say, and ever-present. He was quick to laugh at himself; I suppose he had to when he was shown the photographs of himself in so many absurd and comical guises.
Ken was lightning-quick to spot the ridiculousness or absurdity of a particular situation or occurrence and then he’d burst into that characteristic laugh of his.
Ken truly was a ‘cool dude’ - nothing ever seemed to phase him. He bore everything, including his health issues with good grace and fortitude. That helped make him what he was - a strength and support for others when they most needed him.
I feel ever-grateful for his friendship, hospitality and openness. What a very special man, and how he will be missed by us all, especially the three girls and their families. On behalf of my wife Julie, our children Max and Polly and all the rellies in oz, I send heartfelt condolences and love to Gràinne, Sharon, Lisa, all their families and friends.
