I first met Kevin in the late 1980's as a temporary teacher in his school in Carnew. Our paths crossed decades later due to the fantastic work he and Eleanor completed on the history of this unique and beautiful part of County Wicklow.
May Kevin rest in peace.

It was with sadness I heard of the passing of Kevin from my niece Sandra.

I met Kevin on his first day in Carnew, many years ago.

Mr Lee was my principal in CVS in the 1980s-his imposing stance and pipe were quite intimidating at the time but it was only when I was older I realised how gentle he was. I thoroughly enjoyed his Facebook posts about local history during Covid where I learnt so much about the area. His subsequent books of these posts are an absolutely delight to read now. Mr Lee always remembered his past pupils despite the passing of time and showed great interest in my surname and its origins. I send my condolences to Eleanor and all of the Lee family.

Much has been written about his educational and historical experience Ihave a fond recall of a more satirical one as a Garda ( full uniform,), illustrating the TVprogramme ‘Garda Patrol’displaying a hurl studded with steel bands &nails used as a weapon in a fracas between Carnew and was it Arklow Rocks. He scripted this himself in secret as parf of Tops of the Parish and performed the role himself Rip Kevin

I am very sorry to hear of Kevin's passing. He was my principal in Carnew many years ago. He was a fair and kind man with unnatural patients. I met him many times since then and was always the better for it. A great man for Wood turning and hobbies.
