I am shocked and saddened to hear of Kevin's death. May Kevin Rest in Eternal Peace. He was wonderful company as a walking companion in Galway, Clare + the Camino. And a brilliant walker & cyclist. He was a man of the hills, the mountains and the outdoors.

It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of our club
founder and legend Kevin McCormack RIP.
Kevin who absolutely loved to hike and explore new hikes & new places
was the inspiration behind setting up the Ballyvaughan Fanore Walking
Club back in March 2006. Our first club walk was led by Kevin out in his
home area of Fanore and our first overseas - weekend away was to the
Aran Islands taking in all 3 islands over the weekend under his guidance
& leadership. Nothing phased him. From then on the club grew from
strength to strength. His favourite aspects of the club was hiking the
islands off the coast of Ireland, the Camino de Santiago and taking part
in marathons all over the world. His optimism, enthusiastic ways and
ideas led us to places, that without his vision and the club, these
places would just have been dreams to many. A great man for socialising
after the walks, be it a pint of porter or a cup of tea it was mandatory
back in the day, whats your hurry, come on in for the chat and from one
of those evening chats the Clare Burren Marathon Challenge was set up
and is still going strong. Kevin took part in our 2024 event just before
he got sick.
Kevin's vision, passion & dedication has left an enduring legacy and
will be missed by all who knew him.

We walked many miles over the World for the Charity of Multiple Sclerosis and also in the Burren in the compsny of Kevin RIP. A true gentleman.

I was so sorry to hear of Kevin’s passing. Kevin was such a wonderful person, and I feel lucky to have spent so many walking adventures with Kevin in far away places for MS Ireland, and most especially in The Burren.
