Kevin O'Meara

We have lost a great O’Tooles man from a great O’Tooles family who gave a lifetime of commitment to Family, Club, Community and Society in so many ways. I remember Kevin asking me to join Club Committee as Hon Sec when I was 18 years of age in 1978, showing his own great skills and ability in helping and encouraging others to develop themselves. So sad to hear of Kevin’s passing and not to be able to attend funeral as I was away. Deepest sympathy to Ann and family. Leaba i measc na Naomh go raibh ag Caoímhín.

Kevin was an amazing insightful, wise and generous leader.
I visited Kevin in school and shared many lovely memories with him as part of our principal’s group and also when he served on IPPN.
I considered Kevin a dear friend of mine always.
I only heard today 13th Feb. that dear Kevin had died on 1st Feb.
So so sad that such a great warrior has passed on but I am fully confident his wonderful spirit will never die and will live on everyday in his beautiful musical family.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Kevin’s recent passing. My sincere sympathy to you Ann and to Kevin óg, Garry and Stephen and the extended family.
Over the years Kevin was an educationalist and leader who had a wonderful array of skills which he shared so generously with the pupils, schools and members of his local community over many years and nationally with his fellow principals throughout the country. I can vouch for the fact that he was extraordinarily supportive, wise and helpful in the delicate early days of the Irish Primary Principals Network twenty- five years ago. He always willingly shared his skills with us and played a key role in the early days of IPPN. He was an exceptional human being whom it was a privilege to have known & worked with. Kevin was a man of integrity & principle who had a really genuine love for hurling.

So sorry to hear of Kevin’s death. I was study in Our Lady Immaculate at Darndale school he was the best principal and the best teacher RIP Kevin.

I had the pleasure of both working with Kevin for many years and also as a fellow member of O’Toole’s GAC. As a leader Kevin enabled those around him to develop their leadership skills and as a result many of his staff progressed into leadership roles themselves. Seeing all the lovely tributes shows the positive impact Kevin had on so many people. May Kevin rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Kevin’s death. I worked at Coláiste Dhúlaigh, Coolock and collaborated with Kevin’s Our Lady Immaculate at Darndale. He was wonderful to work with, pleasant and generous with his time. Met him few times since on the byroads around Swords he was in his element. RIP Kevin.
