Dear Prendergast girls - we particularly remember Penney, Norma and Anne from school days at Mrs Reidy's in Kildare.

To say it's the end of an era is an understatement. Kevin and our father Stephen spent a lot of time together as young men.

Kevin was a great trainer and to do what he did and train at the top level for 60 years is remarkable. The Curragh will be a different place without him.

A legend. A master trainer. Kevin was a very fine amateur jockey also. The year 1977 winning the 2000GNS in Newmarket, I remember the following day Thursday he won the last at Punchestown giving his brother's The Wee Glen a fine ride to the delight of his many many supporters. My sincere condolences to the Prendergast family and wider relatives. The red KP paddock sheets were always a head turner in the parade ring and I handed out hundreds of euro in best turned out prizes and deservedly so. They also ran as well as they looked. He was a pleasure to interview and although a man of few words on a mic, they were words of wisdom. May he rest in peace.
