I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin in Berlin, hearing him perform at concerts, going out dancing once or twice. He was full of life, a bright spark who told a great story. His joy and energy were infectious. I'll always remember the music session with Kevin and others after our wedding in Wicklow. We all will. My deepest condolences to Kevin's family.

To Kevin's family, my deepest sympathies. The times I spent in his company, mostly in Galway, were halcyon days indeed. The thing about spending time with Kevin is that you knew they were.

To the beautiful, hilarious, soulful and wide awake Kevin Ryan. Who poured his heart into life, and lived it honestly and authentically. I can’t find the words for the magnitude of you, nor the loss.

Kevin offered me the greatest kindness and encouragement about my writing, and he has inspired me to show my deep appreciation for everyone I care about. I wish I had known him well, he was an absolute treasure. What a legacy - he has taught us to love better. He was a beautiful human being and I am just so sorry for your loss.

Dear Kevin,

It was the greatest pleasure to sing, play and chat with you almost every month over the last 3 years.
I always took it for granted that you would appear in the little Theatre to perform our little „Leonhard Cohen“ show.
And i still can’t believe that you won‘t come next time.
You used to practice in the tiny lockerroom and sometimes one of us others might have asked, „Hey Kevin, thats beautiful, whats that Song again?“ And mostly it was a beautiful classic we had almost forgotten it existed.

Sometimes you had the absolute freedom in your Voice, in your singing, in your playing, i could only Watch and Listen and silently feel tears of movement coming up- until our play had to go on. I admire you for those moments, i think this is something you can not learn. You had it.

We will miss you Kevin!

I think of you now. I’m heartbroken as I know you are all. Marcella, you raised an amazing man; his love for you was immense. Terence, he appreciated you for loving his mom and for the amazing person you are. Ronika, he admired you both and your relationship so deeply. Rory, he always looked up to you. Axel and Oisin, he was the proudest uncle and absolutely adored you. Oliver and Caitlin, he always spoke so fondly of you two and was so proud of you, Oli. You are all in my thoughts. One day I will come to see you and the land he loved.

I love you so so much. Yesterday I went up into the mountains that you loved. Ringo says hi, as he always does when I go there.
I will take you with me everywhere I go. I will write to you every time I see something beautiful, I will send you pictures of the places I visit, videos of the concerts I go to, I will read old and new books and tell you what I find exciting about them, I will go to art galleries and show you around, I will dance with you.
Thank you for sharing so many beautiful things and for making me the me I am today.
