My heartfelt sympathy to Maura, Karen, Michelle, Vincent & all the extended family. Kieran was a very special friend, golfing partner & golfing opponent of my late father Pat Walsh. I have wonderful memories of so many happy, laughter filled fun days in Ballybunion particularly in the golf club. As well as an absolute gentleman & loyal friend he was also a right rogue. He will be greatly missed. May Kieran rest in peace.

I was a junior member of Ashby Decoy Golf Club, or Scunthorpe Golf Club as its name was then. I was in the professional's shop on the day when Kieran first came to the club. He was unknown to Ted Muscroft, the professional so when Kieron asked if he could hire some clubs Ted 'cobbled together' an assortment of very old clubs and directed Kieron to the first tee. I watched as he hit is drive. I have been a member at Ashby Decoy for 68 years and I have never seen any amateur strike a golf as well as he did on that day.
Kieron was very generous with his time with a number of us as junior members. He taught us how to play some unbelievable golf shots off a bare lie with a sand wedge. I wish I could still play like that today!
Kieron is still spoken of at Ashby Decoy with great affection and in my opinion he remains the best amateur to have graced our club as well as being a lovely person who was well regarded by all who knew him.
