Linda and Kieran's family, my condolences to you on Kieran's passing, I have great memories of working with him in the Coffee shop, his way with everyone was so respectful and fair. Rest easy Kieran.

I was very saddened to recently hear of Kieran's sudden death. I had worked with Kieran, as a practice teacher/tutor at TCD. Kieran was a supportive, skilled and humorous colleague. We also "enjoyed" a few exchanges regarding the current state of affairs of US politics. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Linda and family, I wanted to share my sincere condolences. Kieran's passing was far too early. I have such fond memories of working in the coffee shop and the crisis team in Focus with him. I learnt so much from him, he had such a great way with staff and customers alike. I hope the happy memories you have of him will help you through this difficult time.

I have great memories of working with Kieran in Focus Point back in the day and off course the Norseman on a Friday i learnt a lot from him. sincere sympathy to you Linda and extended family .

Dear Linda, I am so so sorry to hear about Kieran's passing. Remembering great times working with him on the crisis team in focus point/ focus ireland. The many lovely and sincere tributes here really show the impact he had on so many.. During the highs and lows of the work, he kept a steady hand on the steering wheel that helped us all. Linda I am really sorry for your loss, his passing was too early. Kieran was larger than life and his presence made people feel safe. Particularly those men and women for whom the world was frightening. His skill, warmth and charm eased many people's fears, gave them respite from the horrors only they knew. He will be sadly missed, but I won't walk down Eustace St without seeing him standing at the door of the coffee shop deep in conversation with someone...His spirit will remain.

I have many fond memories of Kieran from our times in Focus Ireland, not least of which was spending a whole week with him interviewing for new staff. I learned more from Kieran that week than he would ever know and laughed SO much too. He was a great support to me in many many ways and I valued him hugely as a colleague and friend at that time. I have very fond memories of working with Kieran in Focus Point a lifetime ago, while l was with the Off the Streets project. Linda and family, I'm so sorry to learn of Kieran's passing. As a CSV student in the coffee shop team, he was an inspiring manager even if he wasn't my manager. I remember him defending me from a tactless student who made a flippant but hurtful remark that always stuck with me. The Friday nights out where we got to see your romance blossom and the joy it brought. His legacy will prevail and my heart goes out to you losing him too soon. RIP Kieran you've made a made massive difference to the betterment of social work and social policy in Ireland.

Am so very sorry for your great loss Linda. Kieran was a big, kind, wise man who mentored so many of us who had our first taster of social work/policy issues as community service workers in focus point’s coffee shop/crisis service in the 1990s. I remember his kindness and respect to the customers and his skills, teaching those of us who had the good fortune to work with him. Like others, I have clear memories of his delight as his romance blossomed with you Linda. You were the making of him. May he rest in peace, I can still see him smiling, big hugs and condolences to Linda and all of Kieran’s family and friends.

Kieran was an inspiration for Social Workers and this will be just a small part of his huge legacy. Sincere condolences to his wife and family. May he rest in peace.

Kieran helped to shape me into the social worker I am today through his guidance, supervision and support as I worked in Focus many years ago. I enjoyed working with him and Linda as well as many a night in the Norseman. I can never hear about American Football without thinking of him and his passion for it!

So sad to hear of Kieran’s unexpected death. I remember my first job & all the good times (& debriefs!) in FI coffee shop working alongside the crisis team & Kieran many years ago! Kieran, I am so sad to hear that you have gone so soon. You were such a significant person in my life, more than I think you ever knew, and I would not be where I am now if it weren't for you. You took a chance on me, a very young and naive business & languages graduate, almost 20 years ago and decided to offer me a job in the Coffee Shop. A few years later you were instrumental in ensuring I got a place to study Social Work in TCD. And I know I am not alone. There are many others out there like me who benefitted from your guidance and support.

You were an outstanding teacher with an infectious sense of humour. You had very genuine empathy and love for service users and colleagues and had an innate ability to connect with others just by being and sharing your authentic self. To this day I often think of you and Broken Windows Theory, or I channel my inner Kieran Stenson when I sense a potential threat and am faced with some challenging behaviour in work! Thank you so much for everything Kieran and I very much hope Linda and your family find solace in knowing how in your lifetime you have created a lasting legacy which will continue to influence Social Work and beyond for many years to come! xxx
